WOW GLAMA WIG & HAIR CARE POLICY

Last updated: September 2026

At Wow Glama, we want your wig and hair products to look beautiful and perform at their best for as long as possible. Proper care is essential for maintaining the appearance, softness, texture and longevity of your hair.

1. General Hair Care

All hair products should be handled gently.

We recommend:

  • Detangling gently from the ends upwards.
  • Using a suitable wide-tooth comb or soft brush.
  • Avoiding excessive brushing or pulling.
  • Storing wigs in a cool, dry place when not in use.
  • Keeping hair away from excessive friction.
  • Following any product-specific care instructions provided with your order.

2. Washing Your Wig or Hair

Before washing, gently detangle the hair.

Use a mild, sulphate-free or wig-appropriate shampoo where suitable.

  • Wash gently rather than aggressively rubbing the hair.
  • Rinse thoroughly.
  • Apply an appropriate conditioner where suitable.
  • Avoid twisting or wringing the hair.
  • Gently squeeze out excess water.
  • Allow the hair to dry naturally where possible.

Different hair fibres and textures may require different care methods. Always follow the specific instructions provided for your product.

3. Heat Styling

Some Wow Glama products are heat-friendly, while others may not be suitable for heat.

Always check the product description before applying heat.

For heat-friendly products:

  • Use the recommended maximum temperature.
  • Use a heat-protectant product where appropriate.
  • Avoid repeatedly applying high heat to the same section.
  • Test heat on a small, discreet section first.

Heat damage caused by exceeding the recommended temperature or using inappropriate equipment may not be covered by our returns policy.

4. Eco Luxe Collection™

Eco Luxe Collection™ products should be cared for according to the specific instructions supplied with the product.

Where a product is described as heat-safe up to a particular temperature, this is the maximum recommended temperature.

Higher temperatures may damage or alter the fibre.

5. Sleeping in Your Wig

If you choose to sleep in your wig, we recommend:

  • Securing the wig appropriately.
  • Using a satin or silk bonnet.
  • Using a satin or silk pillowcase.
  • Minimising friction.
  • Gently detangling the hair before and after sleeping.

Regular sleeping in a wig may reduce its lifespan due to friction, movement and repeated manipulation.

6. Swimming

We recommend removing wigs before swimming whenever possible.

Chlorine, salt water and other chemicals can affect hair, lace, colour and synthetic fibres.

If your hair comes into contact with chlorine or salt water, rinse it thoroughly with clean water as soon as possible.

7. Products & Chemicals

Avoid applying unsuitable products directly to the hair or lace.

Excessive use of:

  • Oils
  • Heavy creams
  • Alcohol-based products
  • Adhesives
  • Styling products
  • Chemical treatments

may affect the hair, lace or fibre.

Do not bleach, colour, perm or chemically process a product unless it has specifically been confirmed as suitable for that treatment.

8. Lace Care

Lace is delicate and should be handled carefully.

Avoid:

  • Excessive pulling
  • Aggressive brushing
  • Scratching or picking at the lace
  • Excessive adhesive
  • Repeated harsh cleaning

Damage caused by improper handling is not considered a manufacturing defect.

9. Shedding & Tangling

Some shedding and tangling can occur with hair products and may vary according to hair type, texture, length, styling and usage.

Excessive manipulation, friction, heat and chemical processing may increase shedding and tangling.

Proper maintenance can help minimise these issues.

10. Storage

When not being worn, wigs should ideally be:

  • Gently detangled
  • Clean and completely dry
  • Stored away from direct sunlight
  • Kept away from excessive humidity
  • Stored on a suitable wig stand or in an appropriate storage bag

Avoid storing a damp wig, as this may contribute to unpleasant odours or deterioration.

11. Wig Lifespan

The lifespan of a wig or hair product depends on several factors, including:

  • Hair quality
  • Fibre type
  • Frequency of use
  • Washing frequency
  • Heat exposure
  • Chemical treatments
  • Styling
  • Storage
  • General handling

Wow Glama cannot guarantee a specific lifespan because these factors are largely dependent on product use and maintenance.

12. Customer Responsibility

Customers are responsible for following the care instructions supplied with their product.

Damage caused by misuse, neglect, excessive heat, chemical processing, improper washing, incorrect storage or other unauthorised alterations may not be covered under our returns policy.
